The Olukhayo Bible Translation Project
Shadrack Makio is working with five others translating the Bible into Olukhayo in Western, Kenya. It spoken as a first language by at least 130,000 Khayo people. The Khayo are a sub-tribe of the Luhya people. They primarily reside in Busia County near the Kenya-Uganda border. Olukhayo is a language adopted by Global Bible Translators at the Bible Translation Conference in Nakuru, Kenya in April 2025.
