Dear Praying Friends:
It would be wonderful just to report the good news, but we are in a battle and sadly to say there are casualties. One of the projects in Africa lost a couple team members over immorality. Some Bible translators experience discouragement while others have succumb to sinful temptations which disqualifies them from the project. Bible translation demands dedication and holy lives. His preparation spiritually, physically, emotionally, and scholarly must take priority in his life. He will be challenged by trials and temptation and at times discouragement by others. Satan will do all he can to impede this most important task.
Malayalam Bible Translation Started: It is with great excitement that we announce that a new translation project has begun. We met with the translators of the Malayalam Bible of Southwest India, through zoom recently and discussed the beginning process. My heart was overwhelmed with joy to see their desire and dedication to God. In this first meeting we discussed how to set up their team and which book to start with. I’m sure that in our next zoom meeting there will be many questions which will allow us to further their abilities as translators. This calling from God is a daunting task but he will enable them through their faith and sacrifice. Please pray for them!
Trip to Kenya: We have just received news that Kenya is experiencing another partial lock down with a third wave of the Covid 19 virus. There is a five country radius that has been declared a disease disaster zone. We are praying that things will clear up for the translation conference in July of this year. Our hope and prayers are that the doors will be open for brother Taylor of South Korea, to be able to leave that country and then fly back. I suppose if we had no obstacles we would not have to trust God as much. Oh may our faith increase and when we lack faith may we say to God please Lord, …”help thou mine unbelief.”
